Radical Compassion by Tara Brach
Join Carol Moore for a Friday morning book group. In Radical Compassion, Tara Brach draws on her decades of experience as a psychologist and meditation teacher to share insights about how we can cultivate compassion for ourselves and others. The RAIN practice (Recognize, Allow, Investigate, Nurture) is a simple and powerful tool that can be applied in our everyday experiences of states such as judgment, anxiety, fear, hurt, and anger.
Through discussion and brief meditations we will gain insight into how God's immeasurable love meets us in our most challenging moments and transforms our pain into compassion -- the deep compassion that heals our souls and brings peace and understanding to our world.

Short Stories of the Bible
Join Vincent for a 7-week reading of select "short stories" in the Old Testament. The Hebrew Bible is full of stories of intrigue, suspense, and drama. God speaks to us through these deftly crafted narratives, and each one helps us see who God is and how God interacts with the stories of our lives. Our understanding of God's Word (and consequently, our ability to perceive God's grace in our lives) should become more expansive as a result of reading these stories closely.
